I am an Esthetician, Massage Therapist, Energywork Practitioner and I teach a Spa class at a massage and esthetics school in Mobile. I have worked at a variety of spas in Alabama, Georgia, Colorado, and California and have been in the spa industry since 1998.
I grew up in Atlanta, then went to the UGA where I got a
business degree. Right after college I moved to Boulder,
Colorado. I was working in the banking industry and finding that
I was really unhappy with my profession. Boulder is a
holistic/alternative medicine mecca and after being there for a
few years I developed an interest in massage therapy and
alternative medicine. I decided to go to massage school in 1997
and it was a life changing experience. It was amazing how much
more balanced I became since I was receiving regular bodywork
and in a profession I truly enjoyed. I was fortunate to have
amazing instructors, many of whom had been practicing massage
since the 1970’s, who did an excellent job of teaching us the
art and science of massage therapy. I was well trained in
therapeutic techniques to address pain and chronic tension, as
well as being trained in relaxation massage techniques. I am
also trained in modalities that work with our energetic system –
reiki, craniosacral, and bach flower remedies. Energywork is
very helpful when one is “stuck” in some aspect of their life or
if you are having trouble healing from an injury/illness. I
graduated from the Colorado School of Healing Arts in 1998.
In 2002 I went to Thailand to do a Chakra Yoga teacher training. I was already very interested in the Chakra system and had already been working with the chakras when I did energywork sessions. In the training I learned how to use yoga postures, color visualization and sound to balance the chakras. I was able to be in Thailand for 5 months and it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience!
After doing massage for 11 years I decided to continue my education and learn about Esthetics/Skincare. I graduated from the College of International Esthetics in Colorado in 2009. Learning esthetics was a natural transition for me since I had already been working with peoples bodies for so long. It’s been fun adding the skincare/beauty side to my skill set. I think improving our skin and having a healthy glow makes people happier and more confident.
In August 2011 I opened Glow Wellness Studio.
